Public Hearing on Sheridan Land Use Plan

At last week’s Sheridan City Council meeting, a public hearing was held on the Sheridan Land Use Plan.

Workshops Next Week on Public Lands Transfer Amendment

Next week, the Council for the Bighorn Range is providing public workshops in Buffalo and Sheridan regarding the proposed Wyoming Constitutional amendment on the transfer of management or title of public lands.

For the 61st year, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, better known as NORAd, will be tracking Santa Claus himself tonight. NORAD isn’t the only organization tracking Saint Nick as Google and other sites will have a similar tracker available for the public’s viewing.

Census Bureau Information on Holiday Shopping

In honor of the Holiday Season, the U.S. Census Bureau released several facts relating to the holiday season. There were $23.8 billion in retail sales in December of 2015. Electronic and mail order shopping garnered about $55.7 billion.

First Pizza for a Purpose Event Raises Over $1,000

Sheridan PD Accepting Applications for 2017 Citizen’s Academy

The Sheridan Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2017 Citizen’s Police Academy. This academy will hold classes on one evening per week from February 21-April 18. There is no fee for the class but numbers are limited.

Final Council Meeting of 2016

The final Sheridan City Council meeting of the year was held on Monday night. The evening also marked the last meeting for Council President Shelleen Smith and Mayor John Heath. Rich Bridger will fill the seat vacated by Smith and Roger Miller will become Sheridan’s next Mayor.

Bluegrass and Burgers at the Sheridan Senior Center Tuesday Night

Tuesday night, the Sheridan Senior Center will be holding their Bluegrass and Old Timey Jam Performance which is free and open to the public. Jane Perkins, Director of Activities, explains that interested musicians should come down and join them as well.

Last Sheridan City Council Meeting for Mayor John Heath

Monday’s Sheridan City Council meeting will be the last for Sheridan Mayor John Heath. After serving the city of Sheridan for the better part of the last decade, Mayor Heath will be handing the reigns over to Mayor-Elect Roger Miller at the regularly scheduled meeting on January 2nd.

Snow Alert Declared for Sheridan

The city of Sheridan has declared a snow alert and will commence curb to curb pickup on the Priority 1 pickup routes along with a few additional roads tonight.

Jay Stender Talks About Forward Sheridan

CEO of Forward Sheridan Jay Stender, spoke at Wednesday’s Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. The luncheon program was all about economic development, something that Stender says is an important piece of Forward Sheridan.
