Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

STATE WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers placed 8th as a team at the state wrestling tournament three Broncs made all-state with all three placing second Hunter Goodwin, Reece Osborne and Hayden Crow other place winners were Quinn Heyneman 4th, Tyler Combridge 6th Brenden Clem 4th and Justin Vela 5th.

The Tongue River Eagles were 18th in the 2-A team race with one placer that was Kyle Breen 5th at 152.

1-A / 2-A Regional Basketball Results / Broncs and Lady Broncs v Natrona County Tonight / SC Basketball at Casper Tomorrow

1-A / 2-A REGIONAL BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams started regional tournament play in Wright with victories the Lady Rams beat Glenrock 51-26 the Rams beat Lusk 63-43. The Lady Rams play Pine Bluffs in the semi finals tonight while the Rams square off with Glenrock.

The Tongue River teams opened regional tournament play in Riverton the Eagles beat Kemmerer 66-51 to advance to the semi finals the play Wyoming Indian today the Lady Eagles dropped their game with Wind River 59-36 the play and elimination game against Kemmerer today.

1-A / 2-A REGIONAL BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams start regional tournament play at wright high school today the Lady Rams play Glenrock at 4:00 the Rams open with Lusk at 7:00.

The Tongue River teams open regional tournament play in Riverton today the Eagles open with Kemmerer the Lady Eagles take on Wind River.

The Arvada / Clearmont Lady Panthers open their regional in Douglas today against Guernsey the NSI Wolves open with Lingle.

Bronc / Lady Bronc Place Winners at the 2019 Simplot Games

Lady Broncs:

The 1,600-meter sprint medley team of Tamaelle Lawson, Aria Heyneman,Piper Carroll and Piper O’Dell was 7th.

Piper Carroll also placed in the 800 meters taking 11th place.

Broncs:

The team of Alec Riegert, Marc Wodahl,Cody Milmine and Matt Roma took first place in the 800 meter relay

The team of Matt Roma, Marc Wodahl, Cody Milmine and Alec Riegert took 2nd in the 1,600-meter relay.

The 3,200-meter relay team of Alex Garber, David Standish, Garrett Avery and Wyatt Shaw finished 3rd.

Matt Roma also placed in an individual event taking 8th in the 200-meters

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball took on Campbell county and Thunder Basin the Broncs won both the Lady Broncs dropped both games.

Lady Bronc Head coach Larry Ligocki said they were outgunned but the girls showed tremendous effort in both games.

And he says this young team has a lot of potential moving forward but a lot of hard work is ahead.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams play at Campbell county tonight game times are at 6:00 and 7:30 they are at home with Thunder Basin tomorrow games are set for 11:30 and 1:00 all four will be broadcast live on KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Lady Broncs are coming off back to back good performances and Head coach Larry Ligocki says when your getting ready to take on the Gillette schools back to back having a little success going in doesn't hurt at all.
