ALL-STAR HOOPS - The first two games of the annual Wyoming / Montana high school all star basketball series were split both Friday and Saturday as the Wyoming boys swept Montana and the Montana girls swept for the second year in a row.

Wyoming girls coach Frank McCarthy says they ran into a pretty good Montana team.

After winning big in Sheridan Friday team Wyoming played from behind all night Saturday but tied the game late and won in overtime.

Gillette's Taran Brown had a game high 31 points including the game tying three pointer with three seconds to play Brown says it was a great battle Saturday.

How about that wild three pointer to send the game into overtime.

Sheridan's Raith Durham says he had a great time playing in the 2011 all-star series.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are 14-5 overall after splitting a double header with Gillette Sunday.

The Troopers won a thriller in the first game 6-5 as they cut down a tying run at the plate in Gillette's final at bat.

The Troops took and early 2-0 lead, Gillette score 5 in the 3rd inning but the troops chipped away at the lead and took a 6-5 lead heading into the final inning.

The Roughriders loaded the bases with no outs but starting pitcher Lucas Giesey struck out two batters that set up the dramatic finish.

Gillette plays aggressive and tried to steal home with two outs Giesey pitched out as the runner broke from third and catcher Josh Loske did a great job of blocking home plate and applying the tag for the final out of the game.

Giesey went the distance to pick up the win he gave up eight hits and struck out seven he says it was a great game and a great win.

Troops coach Ben Phillips says it was an up and down game and the Troopers did a good job of staying with the game plan and pulling out the win.

He says they knew Gillette would try to steal or squeeze in the last inning and Giesey and Loske executed the play perfectly to finish the game.

Gillette took the second game 9-6.

The Troopers will play two game at the Billings Blue Jays today, they are games that were rained out last month.
