WYO Rodeo opens / Rockies fall to the Angels / Troopers alumni game Saturday / Jets DH Sunday

2015 WYO RODEO - The first performance of the Sheridan WYO rodeo was a good one with scores over 80 from all the leaders in the rough stock events.

In the Bareback riding Tanner Aus has the lead with an 85, Allen Boore scored 84 in the Saddle bronc riding and Shane Proctor brought the house down in the Bull riding with a score of 89.

Beau Clark took the Steer wrestling in a time of 5.3, Vin Fischer Jr. was fastest of the steer ropers at 11.2, Hank Hollenback and Reese Reimer had 11.5 in the Tie down roping.

The team of Seth Hall and Cole Sherwood had the fastest run in team roping at 6.2 and in the Barrels the leader last night was Carley Richardson with a run of 18.38 seconds.

The WYO welcomes hundreds of competitors every year, rodeo board president Zane Garstad says they is a big reason for that happening.

And he says the board made the decision years ago to make the WYO rodeo on of the best in the country. And it's a total team effort.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan troopers will host their traditional alumni game Saturday at noon. Next regular season games will be Wednesday at home with Casper.

JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets will play a home double header Sunday afternoon against the Billings Boltz, the first game will start at 1:00.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost 3-2 to the LA Angels Wednesday night, they open a home series with Atlanta tonight and you can hear the game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio broadcast time is 6:05.

SHS BOOSTER CLUB GOLF - The Sheridan high school booster club will host their fund raising golf tournament Sunday afternoon.

The tournament is a four person team scramble at the Powder Horn, shot gun start will be at 1:00 to register your teams contact the Powder Horn golf shop.

BRONC YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP - The Sheridan Bronc football coaches will hold their three day youth mini camp next week Monday through Wednesday and Homer Scott stadium the camp is open to all boys and girls K-8th grade, pre registration will start at 4:30 with the one hour camp starting at 5:00.
