Weekend local sports wrap up with Hoops / Baseball and Football

WYO / MT ALL-STAR HOOPS - The 2014 Wyoming / Montana high school all star basketball series is history with Montana taking three of the four games, the Wyoming girls salvaged and overtime victory Saturday night

The Montana all-stars won both games in Sheridan Friday, the teams split Saturday in Billings.

The Wyoming girls battled into overtime Saturday night and won 81-75. The teams tied at 64 at the end of regulation, Gillette's Julia Seamans scored eight points in OT to lead team Wyoming to the victory.

A night after losing by two the Wyoming boys fell off the pace and mounted a big comeback but fell short in the final minute of play and lost 94-86.

Montana had a 16 point 3rd quarter lead but the Wyoming all-stars wouldn't go away, they chipped away at the lead and tied the game at 77 in the 4th quarter.

The Montana all-stars hit their freethrows down the stretch and went onto win the game.

Wyoming Mr. Basketball for 2014 Cody Kelly from Gillette led Wyoming both night's scoring 21 on Friday and 25 on Saturday.

SC YOUTH GIRLS HOOP CAMP - Sheridan college women's basketball coach Frank McCarthy is hosting his girls youth basketball camp this week.

The camp runs today through Thursday at the Hoffman dome each session will run from 9:00 to noon each day.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers went 1-3 at a tournament in Omaha, Nebraska and stand at 7-9 on the season. they salvaged the weekend beating Centaurus, Colorado 13-4 in their final game.

They are off until Friday when they have a home game with Cheyenne.

It's a single nine inning game first pitch at 6:00. They follow up with a home double header Sunday with Rapid City Post #320 those games will be at 1:00 and 3:30.

WYOMING SHRINE BOWL - The 2014 Wyoming Shrine Bowl football game went to the North squad this year, Saturday night the North beat the South 41-13.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies finished up a three game series at San Francisco Sunday afternoon come from behind late to win 8-7 and complete a three game sweep of the Giants, the "Rocks" have won five straight.

They open a series at the LA Dodgers tonight you can hear the game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio, first pitch is at 8:10.
