Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams combined to go 5-1 at a tournament in Cheyenne the Broncs swept all three the Lady Broncs lost the opener then won two straight.

The Lady Broncs dropped a game to Kelly Walsh Thursday then came from behind and beat Green River Friday and capped off the weekend with an amazing comeback and a 61-55 win over Rock Springs.

Head coach Larry Ligocki said the two victories were big for the Lady Broncs.

Saturday they were down ten going into the 4th quarter against Rock Springs but exploded for 30 points in the final period for the win.

The Broncs opened with a blow out win over Kelly Walsh then knocked off Green River by one Friday and did it again Saturday, Aaron Woodward led the Broncs with 25 points against Rock Springs his biggest basket came with under one second to play to give the Broncs another one point win, Head coach Jeff Martini said they struggled early but got going and played tough.

And he said in the last two games the Broncs really worked together to win both.

Friday night they host Billings Senior, Senior beat the Broncs just before Christmas and Martini says it should be a great game.

RAMS / EAGLES BASKETBALL - The Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams hosted the North / South 2-A challenge tournament.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles finished with a 1-3 record the Eagles went 0-4.

The Big Horn Lady rams went 2-2 and the Rams had the best record going 3-1.

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams open conference play Wednesday night at home against Central Wyoming game times are at 5:30 and 7:30.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys beat Boise state 79-78 in overtime Saturday, next up you is a road game at New Mexico Wednesday night you can hear it live on KWYO and 106.9 FM the broadcast begins at 6:30.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Cowgirls beat Boise state on the road Saturday they host New Mexico Wednesday night.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers finished 8th out of 26 teams at the "Shane Shatto" invitational tournament in Douglas. the Broncs wrestle in Colstrip, Montana Thursday and then to Miles City for the Cowboy invitational tournament Friday and Saturday.

SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers finished 5th in their own invitational Saturday. Next up for the Broncs is a road trip Friday and Saturday to Laramie and Cheyenne.
