Weekend local sports wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The SHS soccer teams played Cheyenne Central and East over the weekend. The Broncs split and the Lady Broncs swept, the regular season ends Friday with both teams hosting a conference double header with Gillette at 4:00 and 6:00.

The East regional soccer tournament starts May 15th in Gillette.

TRACK AND FIELD - The track and field regular season ends Friday with Gillette hosting an invitational meet. events will start at noon.

Regionals will be next week 1-A and 2-A East will be in Torrington while the Broncs and Lady Broncs will be at their regional in Cheyenne.

The all-class state championships will start in Casper Thursday, May 22nd.

BRONC TRACK AND FIELD - We conclude our conversation today with Sheridan high school Senior Aaron Campbell, he signed a national letter of intent last Thursday to compete in track and field at the South Dakota school of mines.

Campbell has been and inspiration for all student athletes and his coaches during his high school career battling through injuries and surgeries and still is competing this spring at a high level.

Campbell says fighting through the mental process to be able and come back was tough.

And he says this spring he's been cautious on the track but has been able to compete with the best runners in the state week after week.

And he talks about the process of deciding to compete at the South Dakota school of mines.

Sheridan Head coach Art Bauers says Campbell's journey has been amazing.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers play their home opener this week, they will host a double header Sunday afternoon at the Billings Halos.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost to the New York Mets 5-1 at Coors field yesterday. they play again tonight as they host the Texas Rangers the first pitch is at 6:40 live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.
