Weekend local sports wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams had no problem posting their first conference victories of the season Friday.

The Lady Broncs whipped Cheyenne South 6-0 in Cheyenne and improved their overall record to 3-0.

The Broncs drilled south at Homer Scott stadium 9-0 as both teams enjoyed huge victories, Bronc's Head coach Kevin Riser.

Riser says the Broncs are starting to pick up their new uptempo style of play and says they need to get their defense to match that speed.

Saturday they played Laramie and it was a complete different outcome the girls lost 4-0 and the Broncs fell 5-0 riser says they found out athletics can be very humbling.

Both teams play their next matches in Gillette Friday and Riser says the Broncs need a good performance and they will be playing a very good team.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams competed in Cody Saturday the Lady Broncs finished 4th the Broncs were 6th. This week they will be at a meet in Newcastle Thursday and then at an invite in Gillette Saturday

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - In other spring sports the Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers were scheduled to open spring practice weather permitting that is not happening today. The first spring tournament is scheduled for Worland Friday.

FINAL FOUR HOOPS - The Final Four is set for Saturday Uconn plays Florida, Kentucky plays Wisconsin. The national title game will be played a week from tonight.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies open up the regular season today with a three game series in Miami, You can hear the game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio broadcast time is at 4:30. The "Rocks" home opener is Friday afternoon against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
