Weekend Local Sports Wrap Up

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS - The Sheridan high school basketball teams split games with Cheyenne East Friday night the Lady broncs won 59-47 and had a little let down Saturday but had a great second half and blew out Central 63-35 the Broncs came back with a good win at Central 44-36.

Lady Broncs Head coach Jessica Pickett says it was a good weekend overall for the Lady Broncs.

Now they get ready for Friday's home game with Gillette.

The Broncs came back after a two point loss at East and beat Central Head coach a Gale Smith.

And he said the Broncs showed a lot of patience against Central's slow down style of play.

It will be varsity games only Friday night at Sheridan high school the Lady Broncs play Gillette at 5:30 the Broncs and Camels go at 7:30 all live on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

EAGLES HOOPS - The Tongue River basketball teams swept games from Wright Friday night girls won 58-29 boys won 65-62. The Lady Eagles beat Greybull Saturday 64-41 the Eagles lost 68-45.

RAMS HOOPS - The Big Horn basketball teams beat up Riverside Friday night the Lady Rams won 71-7 the Rams won 58-42. They played Rocky Mountain Saturday the Lady Rams won 46-35 the Rams lost 62-56.

SC HOOPS - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals swept games with Gillette Saturday now they head out on the road Wednesday for games at Casper college then at home Saturday against Dawson CC.

UW HOOPS - The Wyoming Cowboys whipped Utah state 74-57 Saturday the Cowgirls lost at Utah state 80-75 after falling behind by 19 points in the first half, a big night for Kayla Woodward in the loss with 27 points and 10 rebounds. The Pokes play at New Mexico Wednesday night and the Cowgirls host the Lobos.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers swept their weekend duals with the Cheyenne schools and Laramie, They will compete in the annual Ron Thon invitational in Riverton this weekend.

SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers beat Natrona county in a dual Friday night 96-57. They host Riverton, Worland and Cody Friday then over to Gillette for a big invite Saturday.

HOCKEY - The Sheridan Hawks hockey team swept weekend games with against Cheyenne winning 4-1 Saturday night and 8-3 Sunday morning.

BRONCOS - The Denver Broncos got blown out of Super Bowl 48 Sunday evening, after the debacle Broncos Quarterback Peyton Manning.
