Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers were knocked out of the state "AA" American legion baseball tournament Sunday with a loss against Jackson now four teams remain alive in the bracket.

The Troopers opened the tournament with a 10-0 win over Evanston then a 9-4 loss to Casper they were eliminated from the tournament yesterday losing to Jackson 2-1.

Jackson plays Gillette today and Casper faces Laramie the championship game is set for tomorrow afternoon. The winner gets a big into the Northwest regional in Lewiston, Idaho starting August 7th.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost 3-2 at Cincinnati Sunday they open a home stand tonight against the Dodgers you can hear the live tonight on Fox Sports radio 87.7 FM first pitch is at 6:40.

FALL SPORTS - Now that the Trooper season has ended the local sports focus goes back to fall sports with football, volleyball and gold starting on August 12th the rest of the fall sports teams start a week later.

The Sheridan Bronc football team has been to four straight title games and will be looking to start another run to Laramie two weeks from today and Head coach Jeff Mowry says the excitement is building every day they get closer to the 12th.

HOOP CAMP - Sheridan college Lady Generals Head basketball coach Ryan Davis opens his high school girls elite camp today at the Hoffman dome.

The elite camp is for all high school players and many will be coming from all over the region for the two day camp they start at noon today and go all day tomorrow.
