Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

2019 CNFR - Sheridan college Bareback rider Chance Ames won the 2019 College National Finals Rodeo championship Saturday night in Casper becoming the Generals 2nd ever national champ.

Coby Johnson took a no score in the finals in the Bull Riding and had to settle for 3rd place.

Ames and Johnson combined for 570 points and a 5th place team finish for Sheridan college.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers went 3-4 this past week on their extended road trip they will finally get a chance to play at home tomorrow evening when they host a doubleheader with Dickinson, North Dakota.

ROCKIES BASEBALL The Colorado Rockies dropped the series finale with the Padres at Coors field Sunday, Jack Corrigan has the game wrap up.

BH TRAIL RUN - The annual Big Horn Trail Run ended Saturday in Dayton the overall 100 mile winner was Seth Swanson from Missoula, Montana in a time of just over 19 hours and 30 minutes.

2019 SIMPSON AWARDS - Sheridan Bronc Parker Christensen became the 8th Sheridan high school graduate to win the annual Milward Simpson award honoring the top male and female high school athletes in the state.

The Simpson awards have been handed out each year since 1976 other Sheridan Broncs to win the award include Christensen, Blaine Phillips, Jeff Martini and Austin Woodward.

Lady Bronc Simpson award winners include Mila Stender, Becky Kopsa, Kayla Woodward and Robbi Ryan.

BLACK MOUNTAIN NORDIC CLUB - The Black Mountain Nordic Club will host a work day on National trails work day Saturday they are doing this in partnership with the US Forest Service.

They will be going to the Cutler nordic trails to clear brush off the trails they will meet at 9 am Saturday at the Forest Service office on Eastridge road and car pool up all volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and lunch.
