Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams swept games at Cheyenne South Friday, the Lady Broncs broke an eight game losing streak with a 43-31 victory the played tough at Laramie Saturday but lost 46-36.

The Broncs continue to win, they were like a machine on the weekend crushing South 70-27 and winning in Laramie Saturday 79-51.

Head coach Jeff Martini said the Broncs once again prepared themselves for a tough road trip and the players deserve a lot of credit for that preparation them going out and executing.

Once they got rolling in both games the passing and finding the open man was a thing of beauty and Martini says it all started in the off season and has carried over to the regular season.

This week they play at Campbell county Friday and home against Thunder Basin Saturday afternoon, they beat them both the first time around and now they have to go do it again.

BH BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams beat Moorcroft Friday on the road the girls won 56-49 and the boys 66-20 they turned around and beat Sundance Saturday by scores of 49-35 and 55-34.

TR BASKETBALL - The Tongue River teams split at Greybull Friday night the boys won 55-53 they swept home games with Riverside Saturday the Lady Eagles took their game 51-24 and the Eagles won 81-41.

A/C BASKETBALL - The Arvada / Clearmont girls swept games with Upton and Hulett the boys dropped both games.

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals swept home games with Laramie county the Lady Generals won 84-55 the Generals were 83-63 winners, they play at Gillette college Wednesday night.

UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls swept the Border wars with Colorado state Saturday, the Pokes play at Utah state Wednesday the Cowgirls are at home against the Aggies.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers closed out the regular with dual victories over Campbell county and Thunder Basin they whipped Campbell 64-12 and beat Thunder 39-38 winning the last five matches to get it done they will be at their regional tournament Friday in Gillette.

HOCKEY - The Sheridan Hawks hosted games with Cheyenne and broke their four game losing streak winning both games 4-1 and 7-6.

SWIMMING / DIVING - The Bronc swimmers and divers will be at the state swimming and diving championships in Gillette prelims get underway Thursday afternoon.
