Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS - The Sheridan high school basketball teams opened conference play with the Gillette schools the Broncs beat Thunder Basin Friday night 66-53 and Campbell county 59-39 Saturday to run their record to 11-1 and 2-0 in league play, after a tough first half they got rolling on Campbell county in the 2nd half here's Head coach Jeff Martini.

Last year Campbell county beat the Broncs four times including a victory in the state title game and Martini says it was nice for the players to finally get one against their rival.

The Lady Bronc had a rough start and the schedule didn't help when they had to face two very good Gillette teams, the defensive pressure really got the girls especially Saturday night against Campbell, Head coach Larry Ligocki.

It was a tough start but the Lady Broncs will get back in the gym and keep moving forward.

BH HOOPS - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams swept all four games beating Moorcroft at home Friday and taking two at Sundance Saturday.

TR HOOPS - The Tongue River Eagles and Lady Eagles each got a win over the weekend after dropping games to Greybull Friday they went to Riverside Saturday and swept victories.

SC HOOPS - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals split at Laramie county the Lady Generals lost 84-71 while the Generals keep winning taking their game 81-61 both teams will be back in action Wednesday night at home against Gillette game times are 5:30 and 7:30.

COWBOY HOOPS - The Wyoming Cowboys got whipped 83-53 at New Mexico the Pokes are at home Wednesday night against San Jose state.

COWGIRL HOOPS - The Cowgirls lost at home to the Lobos 78-75 and will play at San Jose Wednesday.

WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers finished 4th at the Moorcroft invitational the Tongue River Eagles were 18th.
