STATE CROSS-COUNTRY - The Broncs and Lady Broncs have three more days of practice before the State Championships run Saturday. Both teams are expected to do very well for the girls. Dana Morin and Lela Carpenter have been strong all season. Head coach Art Baures says they just have to do what's made them two of the best runners in the state.

Dylan Morin and Seth Ulvestad have led the Broncs all season as well, and Baures says they look good as they get ready to run. And with the regular season being so successful for both teams, expectations are high for more in the finals. With three days left to prepare, they have plenty of work to do prior to race day.

There will be six races on the course on the grounds of the Sheridan VA. The Boys 2-A Championship will start the day at 10:30 ,followed by the Boys 4-A at 11:05 and the 3-A race at 11:40.

The first girls' race will be the 2-A teams at 12:15, with the 4-A at 12:50. The last race is the 3-A Girls at 1:25.

VOLLEYBALL - The post-season begins Friday for our Sheridan County high school volleyball teams. The Arvada/Clearmont Lady Panthers will be at the 1A East Regional in Wheatland. The Big Horn and Tongue River teams will be at the 2-A East Regional in Gillette, and the Sheridan Lady Broncs will be at the 4-A East Regional in Laramie.

The Lady Panthers open the 1-A tournament Friday against Rock River; the Lady Eagles open with Pine Bluffs, while the Lady Rams open the first round with Burns. The Lady Broncs take on Cheyenne Central at 11 o'clock Friday morning.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Bronc football team closes out the regular season Friday at Casper Natrona. We will be with the Broncs and you can hear the game live on AM 1410 KWYO. The First Federal Pre-game Show will start at 6:30, with kick-off at 7 o'clock. The Broncs will host a quarter-final play-off game next Friday night.

RAMS AND EAGLES FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles close out their regular season this week. The Rams have made the field for the 2-A play-offs and have a play-off tune-up at Newcastle.

The Eagles wrap up their season at home with Thermopolis; we will broadcast the Eagles' season finale on AM 1410 KWYO Friday afternoon. The First Federal Pre-game Show will start at 1:45, with kick-off at 2 o'clock. Ron Richter brings you the play-by-play.

UW FOOTBALL - The University of Wyoming Cowboys have this week off. The next game will be on Halloween night at Utah. The next home game for the Pokes will be November 7th against BYU.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The 6-0 Denver Broncos are off with their bye week; they play their next game on the road November 1st at Baltimore.

MLB PLAYOFFS - The Major League Baseball play-offs continued last night with Game 4 of the American League Championship Series. The New York Yankees beat up L.A. 10-1 to take a 3-1 lead in the series. They have tonight off before Game 5 tomorrow.

The National League Championship Series continues tonight with Philadelphia up 3-1. The Phillies can wrap up the Pennant against the Dodgers; the first pitch will be tossed out at 6:07.
