Rain washes out the Troopers

TROOPER BASEBALL - - The Sheridan Troopers and Gillette Roughriders were rained out at Thorne-Rider stadium Tuesday night a make up date will be announced later.

Heading into last night's rain out the Troops were off for a week Head coach Ben Phillips says the rest has been good but they all really wanted to play last night.

So far the weather has not been kind to baseball in our part of the state and Phillips says they all must battle through the frustration of missing so many games.

The Troopers leave for a tournament in Omaha, Nebraska today they will play six games on the trip and will attend some of the College World Series action going on in Omaha.

The Troops will play those six games against teams from Colorado and Nebraska, their next home date will be June 20th against the Billings Halos.

JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets will play a double header today at the Billings Cardinals then back at home for a double header Sunday against the Billings Angles the first game will be played at 1:00.

BIG HORN MOUNTAIN TRAIL RUN - The annual Big Horn Mountain Wild and Scenic trail run begins Friday with the 100 milers taking to the course in the Big Horn mountains.

The 50 mile, 50 k and 30 k races all begin Saturday with the conclusion of the event Sunday with a pancake breakfast for the competitors on Grinnell Plaza.
