TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers played in Sturgis, South Dakota last night and earned a split.

Sturgis took game one 9-6 but the Troops came back with strong pitching from Matt Jones to take the second game 8-1. Jones struck out seven in the victory, Devin Rogeau had a Double in each game and scored four times.

The Troops play their next four on the road, they head to Cody tomorrow and Riverton Monday before returning home next Wednesday in a return double header with Sturgis.

Head coach Ben Phillips says it will be good for the Troops to get a look at Cody and Riverton two teams they may face in the Post season.

The Troopers have 20 games left in the regular season. They will play in their district tournament in Cody starting July 22nd.

The top four teams qualify for the state tournament scheduled to be played at Thorne-Rider stadium beginning July 28th.

JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets will play at Thorne-Rider stadium tonight they host a double header against Cody the first game will start at 5:00.

BIG HORN POLO - Along with hosting the 4th of July celebration Sunday the Big Horn Equestrian center will host two polo matches Saturday.

The Big Horn Polo club will play on Saturday this week breaking from their schedule of Sunday matches. They play the Moncrieffe Cup Saturday and 1:00 and the D.A. Davidson cup at 3:00. admission is free.

MLB - The Colorado Rockies lost 13-3 yesterday at San Diego they are now three games behind the Padres in the National League West.

The Rockies return to Coors field tonight to open a four game home stand with the San Francisco Giants.

LOCAL GOLF - The 4th Annual Chris Ledoux foundation tournament will be played Rodeo week at the Powder Horn. It's a two day event with the four person scramble set for July 11th. They have room for a few more teams contact Dale Volker at the Powder Horn for more information.

The Powder Horn will also host the annual ”Summer Hummer” tournament beginning July 21st. It's a two-man team tournament and they have a few slots left in the field as well contact the Pro shop or Dale Volker to enter.

The Sheridan high school booster club will be hosting their own golf tournament at the Powder Horn later in the month. The tournament is four person team scramble which will include an auction and is scheduled for July 30th.
