Troopers / Rockies Post Victories / Bronc Youth Mini Football Camp Opens July 17th

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers and Laurel Dodgers got one game in Wednesday night before weather washed out game two of the Doubleheader.

The Troopers came out on top to run their record to 35-15 overall and it was a very entertaining game.

The Troops jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings but Laurel would score six times in the 4th inning to take the lead and add another run in the 5th to make it 7-5 then the Troopers bats woke up scoring three in the 6th inning and went onto the 8-7 victory.

Noah Gustufson started the game for the Troopers he pitched well even after the big inning by Laurel he hung and got relief from Noah Borzenski in the 5th.

Borzenski kept the Dodgers off balance allowing the Troops to get back in the game, Head coach Ben Phillips was pleased with their effort on the mound.

The defense came up with some big plays and they got several timely hits.

TROOPER YOUTH BASEBALL CAMP - The Troops host their youth baseball camp at Thorne-Rider stadium today and tomorrow.

Trooper camp will run from 9:00 to noon each day Phillips says they love hosting Trooper camp and it will be a great time for all the campers.

This weekend they host two games with Cody Saturday afternoon starting at 1:00 and Sunday they have two with Rapid City Post #320 also at 1:00.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies beat Cincinnati 5-3 Wednesday night, here's Jack Corrigan with the wrap-up. You can hear today's game live on sports talk 87.7 FM.

LOCAL GOLF - Tomorrow is the entry deadline for the Sheridan city golf championships at Kendrick golf course play will be Saturday and Sunday.

They are also taking sign ups for the next session of junior golf lessons the session will run next week Monday through Friday and will run from 10:00 am to noon each day.

BRONC FOOTBALL YOUTH MINI CAMP - The 11th annual Sheridan Bronc football summer mini-camp will run July 17th-19th the camp for the young Broncs up through 8th grade from 5-6 pm will be taught by the Bronc football staff and players the cost is $15 and includes a tee shirt.

Registration is at the field starting at 4:30 pm on Monday the 17th, players will need proof of insurance at registration. 9-12th grade Broncs go from 6-8 pm, emphasis on drills, fundamentals and technique.
