TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are scheduled to open the 2013 season Saturday at Thorne-Rider stadium in a double header with Cody.

Head coach Ben Phillips says the main focus during the early season is making sure his pitching staff is ready to throw a good amount of innings. The plan is to start Drew Adrieans in the opener he is currently a red-shirt pitcher and Montana state-Billings.

The season is getting started much earlier this year, traditionally the Troops used to start the season on Memorial day weekend but Phillips says these days most teams are starting now because they need to get as many games as possible in before the start of conference play begins in June.

TRACK / FIELD - This week all state qualifiers are scheduled to compete at the Wyoming track classic Friday at Casper Kelly Walsh high school and Saturday Kelly will host the Casper invitational

SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team hosts matches with Cheyenne East and Central the Broncs play in Cheyenne

GOLF - The Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers are scheduled for tournament play in Powell Friday and the Buffalo Saturday.

ROCKIES - The Colorado Rockies and Atlanta were snowed out in Denver last night today they play a double header game one starts at 1:10 and game two at 6:40 you can hear both games live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.
