Troopers go 3-1 in Omaha / Rockies "Walk off" the Giants / 2017 Milward Simpson Awards

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers have won 11 of their last 13 games and are 27-12 overall after going 3-1 at a tournament in Omaha, Nebraska they finished off the tournament knocking off Creighton Prep Sunday 8-7.

The Troops return to action at Thorne-Rider stadium tomorrow evening with a Doubleheader against Riverton the first game starts at 4:00.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies got an All Star performance from third basemen Nolan Arenado Sunday to beat the San Francisco Giants 7-5 Arenado hit for the cycle and ended the game with a walk off three run homer. And here's Jack Corrigan with the game wrap up.

The "Rocks" are off today and open a home series with Arizona tomorrow night you can hear the game live on Sports Talk 87.7 FM broadcast time is 6:05.

MILWARD SIMPSON AWARDS - The annual Milward Simpson awards for the top high school athletes in Wyoming were handed out over the weekend in Cody.

Logan Harris from Torrington was named the boys winner this year after setting the all-class state record in the shot put at the state championships in May he will play football at the University of Wyoming.

The girls winner was Anna Gibson from Jackson she will compete in track and field and cross country at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

RODEO - The National Junior High Finals rodeo is underway in Lebanon, Tennessee Tavy Leno and Cade Relaford are representing the state and Sheridan county in the finals.

The National High School Finals rodeo starts July 17th in Gillette.
