Troopers Earn a Walk off win Over Cheyenne / Jets fall in State Title Game / Rockies Whip the Bucs

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers ended the regular season Saturday with a thrilling 3-2 walk off, extra inning win over Cheyenne Post 6.

Nolan McCafferty ended the game with a 2 run single in the bottom of the 10th inning after the Troopers had loaded the bases, Head coach Ben Phillips says it was just an all around great ball game.

And he says it's nice to have a big momentum boost as they get ready to open the state tournament Wednesday.

The Troops end their season with a record of 40 wins and 20 losses and Phillips said the players had a very good year.

The state "AA" American Legion tournament starts Wednesday in Casper the Troopers will open the tournament against the Jackson Giants.

JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets season came to end Sunday at their tournament in Rock Springs they lost in the final against Casper 15-5.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies have won 6 of 9 games since the all-star break including a 13-3 win yesterday against Pittsburgh here's Jack Corrigan with the wrap up. You can hear the game live on Sports Talk 87.7 FM Rockies on deck will start at 5:30.

NHSFR - The National high school finals rodeo ended Saturday night none of our Sheridan county athletes made it to the Short Go Saturday.

FALL SPORTS - The 2017-18 high school sports season starts two weeks from today any junior high and high school athletes are asked to get sports physicals complete as soon as possible they are mandatory to be able to begin practice.

The Bronc football team opens August 7th the Big Horn and Tongue River football teams open August 9th.

Tennis and Golf open August 7th with Girls swimming, Cross country and Volleyball opening August 14th.

The opening weekend of the regular season is August 25th and 26th the Broncs open the football season at home against Rock Springs on the 25th.
