Troopers Close out Season as State Runner up / Rockies Split Two at the Nats / Bronc Football Opens Camp a Week From Today

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers made a great run the state American Legion baseball tournament but came up short in Sunday's championship game against Cheyenne.

The Troopers lost their opening game last Wednesday then put together four straight victories getting including a win over Cheyenne on Saturday but Post 6 won the game that counted Sunday 8-4.

The Troops had to play two games yesterday they beat Gillette 9-0 to get to the championship and had to turn right around and play again.

The Troopers go 4-2 at the state tournament and end the 2017 season with a 44-22 record.

Post 6 advances to the American Legion Northwest regional tournament it opens in Missoula, Montana Wednesday.

FALL SPORTS - The 2017-18 high school sports season starts for the Sheridan Bronc football team this week here's Head coach .Don Julian The Broncs meet and open practice a week from today at 7 am.

This season the 4-A East will have seven teams with the inclusion of Thunder Basin high school in Gillette, during the 2018-19 school year the 4-A will have a dramatic change with 16 schools playing in four team quadrants.

And one final reminder from Julian today for all athletes and parents.

Fall tennis and golf start practice a week from today the Big Horn and Tongue River football teams open their camps next week on Wednesday. Girls swimming, cross country and volleyball all open August 14th.

FOOTBALL OFFICIALS WANTED - The Sheridan football officials association is looking for new officials anyone interested in officiating football this season should come to their next meeting Monday, August 14th the meeting will be held at Sheridan high school at 6:00 pm.
