TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers have a record of 17-3 after Tuesday night's conference game with Douglas.

The troopers fell behind 1-0 through three innings but blew the game open in the 4th inning sending 14 batters to the plate and scoring 8 runs.

Douglas hung around and got within 11-8 in the 8th but the Troopers put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the inning for the final margin of victory.

Starting pitcher Schiller Murphy got the win pitching into the 6th inning he gave up 4 runs on 6 hits, struck out four and walked three.

Kaul Eisele and Cameron Harnish came on in relief to work the final three innings.

Head coach Ben Phillips says Murphy gave the Troops just what they needed on the mound Tuesday night.

It took the bats a while to get going and mental toughness is what the Troops need to work on over the next several games.

The pitching staff had been getting a little thin with innings over the last week but now Phillips says they are back on schedule for another stretch of fives games through Monday.
