TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers dropped both ends of their header Saturday with the Billings Halos by scores of 13-3 and 13-11. They get right back on the field tonight with two games over in Spearfish.

It's been a tough stretch of games for their last three weeks that have taken their toll with some players missing several games.

They expect to be back at full strength when the post season begins next week head coach Ben Phillips says the troops are playing a little tired right now.

The pitching has taken the most hits but the hopes are to have everyone ready to go when they play in their district tournament in Gillette starting on the 21st.

The Troops play two in Spearfish tonight then the big conference games at Gillette Thursday as Phillips set up the pitching rotation for the week.

This weekend the Troopers will host a home run derby and alumni game Saturday, Killy's will have Burgers and Brauts as the Trooper booster club would like to welcome all fans to come out for the afternoon.

The derby will be at noon and the Alumi game will be at 1:00.

The Troopers will close out the regular season at home on Sunday with a double header with Sturgis, south Dakota.

The District tournament opens on the 21st in Gillette with the state tournament set to begin in Cheyenne on the 27th.
The 2011 American legion northwest regional tournament will be played this year in Billings and starts August 4th.

WYO RODEO - Steer roping slack for the 81st Sheridan Wyo rodeo opens at 7:00 tomorrow morning with slack timed events continuing Wednesday morning at 9:00.

The first performances of the 81st Wyo rodeo opens night Wednesday at 7:00.

BRONC YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP - The Sheridan Bronc football coaches will be hosting their annual youth football camp next week Monday through Wednesday at Homer Scott stadium.

The camp will run from 5-6 pm each day the camp is for all youth up to 8th graders.

They will take registration next Monday starting at 4:30 before the camp opens the cost is ten dollars per camper and each camper gets a Bronc T-shirt.

The 5th annual Bronc mini camp for all broncs from freshmen through seniors will be the 18th through the 21st. The first official bronc practice for the 2011 season is August 8th.

The Broncs open the season on August 26th at home again Cheyenne Central then a road game at Natrona county in week two followed by a home game with Cheyenne South in week three.

JUNIOR GOLF - The Sheridan county junior golf series tees it up July 18th at the Sheridan country club, they play at the Powder Horn August 1st and Kendrick golf course August 8th.

The program is open to all boys and girls ages 8-17 players play in their own age groups to register for any of these events forms are available at all three Sheridan county courses.

The fee to play is 10 dollars per play and all players must pre-register for each event. the entry deadline for the first event is Thursday
