Jets win State Opener / Rockies fall to the Giants / NHSFR Rolling in Rock Springs

JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets opened the "B" state American Legion tournament last night at Thorne-Rider stadium they whipped Rock Springs 15-1 they will play again tonight at 7:00 again Powell who beat Laramie 14-4 yesterday.

Other games had Evanston beating Gillette 2-1 and Cody beat Cheyenne 7-5.

Today's schedule starts with loser out games at 10:00 Gillette plays Cheyenne, Laramie and Rock Springs play at 1:00 then the other winners bracket game will have Evanston and Cody play at 4:00 followed by the Jets and Powell.

WYO RODEO - The Sheridan WYO rodeo rolls into day three as we look at updated standings.

In the Rough stock events Steven Dent still holds the lead from his Wednesday night ride in the Bareback riding with an 86, the Saddle Bronc leader is Stetson Wright with a score of 86.5 that was also on Wednesday and Parker Cole McCown still leads the Bull riding with an 83 also from Wednesday night's Perf.

Carley Cervi took the Barrel race lead in last night's performance with a time of 17.64.

Troopers Take two From Casper / WYO 2019 is Underway / Rockies Host Reds Friday Night

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are ten games over .500 as they swept a doubleheader against Casper Wednesday night.

The Troops have won 10 straight and will look to extend the streak Sunday when they host the Cody Cubs.

They took the first game 3-1 and the nightcap 5-3 and got very good pitching from starters Quinn Mcafferty and Aiden Roush, Carter Dubberley got the save in both games Head coach Ben Phillips said all three were tough last night.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are 25-17 as they enter play this week winners of 13 of their last 14 games they host a doubleheader with the Casper Oilers tonight starting at 5:00 they host two with the Cody Cubs Sunday starting at 1:00.

The annual Trooper Alumni game will be played Saturday and start at noon at Thorne-Rider stadium.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies are off until Friday when they resume the schedule starting a home series with Cincinnati.
