The Sheridan college rodeo team went to Cheyenne this past weekend to compete at Laramie County Community College. We had 3 athletes make it back to the short round on Sunday.

Jake Mangis and his team roping partner Corbin Nichols placed 5th in the long round with a time of 7.0, they were the second fast time in the short round with a 5.3 and placed third in the average with a composite time of 12.3.

The team roping was very competitive this weekend and Jake really stepped up and roped well he earned the team 110 points.

Chelsey Kelly split 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in the long round with a time 7.1 in the goat tying. The goat tying was extremely tough again this weekend with 8 tenths of a second separating 1st through 10th. Chelsey placed 9th in the short round and 9th in the average.

Dusty Benoit placed 9th in the long round in the bull riding, bucked off in the short round and place 9th in the average, Burns Rodeo company supplied the stock and his horses and bulls were very good.

We are proud of how hard our kids have been working, and we are going to refocus over the winter and comeback in the spring ready to compete.
