SC Generals Rodeo results

Sheridan College headed to Fort Collins, CO this past weekend to compete at the CSU Stampede.

The women’s team had a number of individuals qualify for the short round.

Latasha Weiferich a freshman placed second in the long round in the barrel racing with a time of 15.11 seconds, she placed fifth in the short round with a run of 15.25 seconds, which placed her third in the average and moved her into the third place position in the region.

Lauren Rives from Buffalo, WY placed seventh in the long round in the barrel racing with a time of 15.21 second and she had a good run in the short round of 15.52 and placed eighth in the round and the average.

Savanna Bolich a sophomore placed fifth in the long round in the goat tying with a time of 7.5 seconds, she was consistent in the short round and tied a 7.5 seconds again and placed sixth in the round and fifth in the average.

Cricket Cunningham a freshman tied a 7.7 second run in the goat tying placing seventh in the long round but had some tough luck in the short round and injured her knee when she went to get off her horse and was unable to finish her run.

Taylor Bothwell a freshman had a good run in the breakaway roping catching her calf in 2.9 seconds, which placed her seventh in the round; in the short round, she had a smooth clean run of 3.4 seconds, which placed her third in the round and third in the average.

On the men’s team, they placed second in the rodeo behind Gillette College. Sheridan is still leading the region but the point lead has narrowed after this weekend.

Freshman Hunter Carlson who was 74 points in the bareback riding in the first round placing second, in the second round he was 72 points, which placed second, led the team again and he split first and second in the average. Hunter is still leading the region with 1105 points.

Freshman Chance Ames placed third in the first round with a 73-point ride in the bareback riding in the second round he split sixth place with a 67-point ride and placed fourth in the average.

Bare back rider Trig Clark from Meadow, SD placed split fifth and sixth in the first round with teammate Kyle Bloomquist they both scored 67 points. He was 67 again in the second round, split sixth place, and placed fifth in the average.

Kyle Bloomquist scored 67 points in the first round and 63 points in the second and placed seventh in the average.

Trevor Clark a freshman scored 60 points in the long round in the saddle bronc riding and scored a 57 in the short round placing fourth in the round and fourth in the average.

Freshman Cameron Benbough made the short round in the saddle bronc riding with a score of 66 points placing fourth in the round. He was bucked off in the short round.

Freshman Garrett Uptain split fifth and sixth in the long round in the bronc riding with a 65-point ride, he won the short round with a 71-point ride and placed second in the average.

Sophomore Sam Thurston split fifth and sixth in the saddle bronc riding with teammate Garrett Uptain scoring 65 points in the short round he scored 65 points again and placed fourth in the round and fourth in the average.
