The Sheridan College Generals had a great start to the season at Chadron, NE this past weekend. Both the Women’s team and the Men’s team ended up second for the weekend.
The women were second behind Casper college by 40 team points and the men were second to Chadron State college by only 20 team points. We are very excited about our home rodeo this weekend.

The women’s team was led by Freshman and local cowgirl Cricket Cunningham who had two fast runs in the goat tying of 7.8 seconds in the long round and the short round. She split 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the long round and split 3rd and 4th in the short round placing her 2nd in the average and earning 125 team points. Going into the short round there was less than 9/10ths of a second between first place and 10th place.

Junior Breanna Reimler also had a strong showing in the breakaway roping where she made it to the short round with a fast time of 3.3 seconds. Breanna roped smart in the short round and matched her long round time of 3.3 seconds this placed her 2nd in the short round and 4th in the average earning 80 team points.

Sophmore and new comer to Sheridan Karlee Worthen made it back to the short round in the breakaway roping with a time of 3.3 seconds but had a little trouble getting her short round calf caught. We are expecting big things from Karlee.

It was his first college rodeo win and an interesting fact his father Travis Carlson won Chadron 24 years ago for his first college rodeo win.
