SC Generals Rodeo results

The Sheridan College Rodeo Team headed to Laramie for the last college rodeo of the 2015-2016 season.

We had a strong showing at UW with both the Men’s and the Women’s team placing 3rd at the rodeo. We had three individuals qualify for the CNFR.

Sophomore Callie Robinson from Moorcroft, WY placed 2nd in the long round in the breakaway roping with a time of 2.5 seconds, in the short round she roped her calf in 3.0 seconds and placed 4th in the round and split second in the average. Her sharp and smart roping clinched her 2nd place finish in the region in the breakaway qualifying her for her first CNFR.

Sophomore Dayton Johnston from Milk River, Alberta won the long round in the bull riding with a score of 79 points, in the short round he was bucked off a flat little spinner but he placed second in the average which held his 2nd place finish in the region and qualified him for his first CNFR in the bull riding.

Freshman Sam Thurston from Big Valley, Alberta was 62 points in the long round in the saddle bronc riding which split 5th and 6th place. In the short round he was 73 points which placed him 3rd in the short round and third in the average. Sam ended up 3rd in the region in the saddle bronc riding and he qualified for his first CNFR in the saddle bronc riding.

Other Sheridan College stand outs were Breanna Reimler placing 5th in the long round in the breakaway roping with a time of 2.7 seconds and 3rd in the short round with a time of 2.9 seconds which placed her 4th in the average.

Tayte Clark split 5th and 6th in the long round of the saddle bronc riding and 4th in the short round and 6th in the average. Tayte finished the year in 4th place behind Sam Thurston.

Trig Clark finished the year in the bareback riding in 6th place. Trig was 2nd in the long round 2nd in the short round and 2nd in the average.

Calby Hanson split 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the goat tying with a fast time of 6.8 seconds. Her goat got up in the short round placing her out of the average.

Weston Hartman placed 5th in the long round in the bull riding with a score of 69 points, he was bucked off in the short round and placed 5th in the average. He finished the year 9th place behind team mates Dayton Johnston and Tyrell Ward who finished in 6th place.
