Planning ahead for 2014 hunting seasons / Full fall sports underway Monday / Broncos at 49ers Sunday

2014 WYOMING HUNTING SEASON - The 2014 Wyoming hunting season is set to open today with open day for antelope archery season and we continue our conversation with local Game Warden Bruce Scigliano.

Scigliano says a successful season starts with planning and checking gear well in advance of heading out into the field.

And he says when it comes to regulations when in doubt contact the department our a game and fish department official.

Finally today Scigliano says there is one violation they see year after year.

FALL HIGH SPORTS - The fall sports season gets into full swing Monday,the Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles football teams open practice on Monday.

Volleyball teams, cross country, girls swimmers and divers, tennis players and golfers all open practice as well.

The first competition is slated to begin August 21st when the Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers host the Sheridan invitational at Kendrick golf course.

The rest of the action will all begin Friday August 29th.

SHERIDAN REC DISTRICT - The Sheridan recreation district will wrap up summer adult softball leagues this week with all post season tournament games at Thorne-Rider stadium.

Tonight the co-rec league title being contested, starting at 10:00 tomorrow morning and running all day will be the men's tournament and Sunday will crown their co-rec competitive league champion.

The Rec district has also opened registration for fall adult men's flag football, league play begins on the 27th.
