SRD Summer Sports / Activities / Christensen earns Simpson Award Nomination / All-Star Hoops Tip off Friday

SRD - The Sheridan Recreation District is into full summer mode, district Director Seth Ulvestad says they had a great opener for Kendrick pool and they begin swim lessons next week.

The Rec district and Kendrick golf course are teaming up again for junior golf they will run a session this month and in July and are taking registration this week.

WYO / MT ALL-STAR BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals Head coach Cody Ball will be on the sidelines coaching for the first time as a Head coach this weekend as he takes the Wyoming high school all-stars into the annual Wyoming / Montana all star basketball series.

Ball says he's been looking forward to putting the team together and get them out on the court.

SC GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals basketball program has a new Head coach it's Wyoming native Cody Ball, Ball has been with the Generals program for the last five seasons as an assistant and takes over for Matt Hammer who left last month to take a coaching job at Colorado-State Pueblo.

Ball played his high school career in evanston and went onto play college basketball and for the last eight season as a college assistant coach. we will hear from the generals new head coach tomorrow.

Sheridan College men’s basketball promotes Ball to head coach

Sheridan College announced today that Cody Ball was named the new men’s basketball head coach for the Generals. Ball replaces Matt Hammer who accepted a position as head coach at Colorado State University – Pueblo in April.

Ball has served as an assistant coach at Sheridan College for five seasons and coached at the college level for eight seasons. He was an assistant coach at Northwest College in Powell, Wyo., for two seasons and for Mount Marty College in Yankton, S.D., for one season.

Rockies win Again / Jets Home Tonight / Troopers at RC 320 Sunday / Hoop Jam Tips Saturday

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers will wait to play their next games Sunday at Rapid City Post 320.

The Troops will play their next 14 games on the road before returning to Thorne-Rider stadium for back to back doubleheaders June 18th and 19th.

JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets they get a their full schedule rolling over the next several days they host two with Rapid City this evening at 5:00 then home games with Gillette Friday.

They play two in Rapid City Monday then head to a four day tournament in Billings starting June 5th.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers had a long weekend to watch the rain as did most other teams in our region and will now wait to play their next games Sunday at Rapid City Post 320.

Rockies Drop a Wild Game at Pittsburgh / Troopers in Gillette / All-Star Hoops Features the Best of Wyoming and Montana

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers will play in the annual Memorial day weekend tournament in Gillette games are scheduled to begin tonight and wrap up Monday afternoon.

The weather has limited the Troops to indoor workouts and Head coach Ben Phillips says it's been tough but the players are trying to make the best out of the situation.
