LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL - The Sheridan little league 9-10 year olds dropped their first game of the state tournament in Gillette yesterday losing to Riverton.

A day after beating powell in the opener they lost 5-0 last night to Riverton. That sets up a rematch of the last week's district title game when Sheridan beat Laramie last week for the district title they two square off today in an elimination game at 4:00.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers open up the state "AA" tournament in Cheyenne this afternoon the Troops open with Laramie at 12:30.

JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets are the hosts for the Northern American Legion Junior baseball regional tournament.

The regional is scheduled to begin at Thorne-Rider stadium tomorrow the Jets will play at 8:00 against Fort Collins, Colorado.

TRANS-NATIONAL GOLF - Day two qualifying is today the transnational golf tournament at the Powder Horn.

The second round of stroke play begins today following play today the top 64 advance to match play the tournament wraps up with the 36 hole final sunday.

SHERIDAN COUNTY YOUTH SPEED CAMP - Sheridan high school is hosting a speed camp for all sheridan county junior high and high school athletes tomorrow and Friday.

The camp is free for and will be held at the Sheridan high school track tomorrow from 1:00 to 4:00 with check-in at 12:30, Friday they'll run it from 8:30 till noon

BOOSTER CLUB GOLF - The Sheridan high school booster club will host their annual fund rasing golf tournament at the Powder Horn Saturday August 6th. Call the Powder Horn to sign up your teams.

LADY BRONC SWIMMING AND DIVING - Brent Moore is the new swimming and diving coach at Sheridan high school this week he is holding a camp for all Lady Bronc swimmers.

We had a chance to sit down with the new coach yesterday Moore comes to Sheridan after coaching high school and club swimming at Poudre Valley high school in Fort Collins, Colorado.

This week Moore and the Lady Broncs are having a swimming camp all Lady Bronc and potential Lady Bronc swimmers and divers are invited to participate.

The camp runs for two hours each day this week starting at 6:30 in the morning at the Junior high pool.

Moore says he hasn't had a chance to see or talk with all the team members and that season expectations and team goals will be high but all that will come when practice officially begins August 15th.

Moore and the Lady Broncs will open the 2011 season at the Casper Relays August 26th.

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL CAMP - Sheridan college women's volleyball coach Jennifer Weitzel and the Lady Generals will host their youth volleyball camp August 1st through 4th in the Hoffman dome at Sheridan college.

The morning session is for players K-5th grade and the afternoon session for players in the 6th through 12th grades.
