Local Youth Rodeo / SC Rodeo on Summer Break / Troopers win two More / Rockies Have Dropped Five Straight

RODEO - The National Junior High Finals rodeo closed out over the weekend in Lebanon, Tennessee Tavy Leno from Sheridan finished 14th in the Average in the Goat Tying she also competed in the Ribbon Roping Cade Relaford had one qualifying ride in the Bronc Riding.

The National High School Finals rodeo will be in Gillette and starts July 16th.

The 2017 Sheridan WYO rodeo week starts July 10th.

We had a chance to sit down and visit with Sheridan college rodeo coach Marc Gilkerson late last week the men's program at the college had a first for the 2016-17 season it's first ever regional title.Linked Text Here

The biggest factor in the past few year's for the success of the program has been the addition of their indoor arena.Linked Text Here

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are now 31-12 overall after sweeping a doubleheader in Cody friday night winning 7-3 and 4-0 they play a Doubleheader at Rapid City Post #320 tomorrow.

They head to Cheyenne for a tournament Thursday they will play four games and return to Thorne-Rider stadium July 5th against Laurel, Montana.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies have dropped five straight they were swept by the Dodgers in LA over the weekend Jack Corrigan has Sunday's game wrap up.Linked Text Here

SRD (KIDS) - The Sheridan Recreation District had their first "Fresh Air Friday" outing for kids last week.

Program Coordinator Seth Ulvestad says this program gives kids a chance to get out in nature and explore the bighorn mountains.

The next outing will be Friday for a hike to Little Goose Falls the cost for each trip is 25 dollars the Rec District provides water and snacks to get signed up stop by the rec office in Thorne-Rider park.

LOCAL GOLF - Kendrick golf course will host the Sheridan City Championships July 8th and 9th and something new this year they have added a junior division to the tournament.

Along with the regular adult flights they will also have flights for kids ages 9 to 13 they are taking registration for the City Championships through July 7th stop by the golf shop to get signed up.
