Local Sports weekend Wrap-up

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams took three out of four games from Cheyenne East and Central over the weekend the Lady Broncs came back late and beat East Friday night with Senior Megan Myers hitting the game winning shot with two seconds to play.

The Lady Broncs won it 46-44, Saturday they went down to the closing minutes with Cheyenne Central and pulled out a 51-44 victory, that's five straight tough wins all coming in the 4th quarter or overtime here's Lady Bronc Head coach Jessica Pickett.

Three games remain on the regular season schedule with a road trip to Laramie Friday and at Cheyenne South Saturday.

The Broncs made a ferocious come back late Friday against Cheyenne East and won in overtime. The Broncs were down eight with 1:20 to play and were somehow able to force overtime and win the game 60-54.

Saturday they jumped out to a double digit lead against Cheyenne Central early in the second half but central was able to control the tempo of the game with their zone defense and the Broncs went cold from the field and central took the game 48-42, Head coach Gale Smith.

The Broncs join the Lady Broncs on the road at Laramie and South this weekend, they still control their own fate with three games to play and are in a very good spot to pick up one of the two automatic state tournament bids.

RAMS / EAGLES BASKETBALL - The Big Horn basketball teams went to Moorcroft Saturday and as expected got two victories and the Tongue River teams swept Sundance.

This week the regular season ends with big horn hosting Sundance Friday and Tongue River at Wright , then Saturday the regular season finale will take place with the Eagles and Lady Eagles hosting Big
Horn.

Big Horn will turn right around and host the 2-A East regional tournament starting Thursday, February 26th.

WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers compete at the 4-A East regional tournament this week at Cheyenne South high school, the all class state championships open in Casper Friday February 27th.

SWIMMING - The Sheridan Bronc swimmers are off this week as they continue preparation for their state championships which begin in Gillette on the 26th.

INDOOR TRACK - Sheridan high school indoor track team qualifiers compete at the annual Simplot games in Pocatello, Idaho that meet starts Thursday.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys whipped San Jose state Saturday 77-60, the Pokes play one game this week tomorrow night at Nevada we will have it live for you on 14-10 KWYO pregame at 7:30 with the tip at 8:00.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Cowgirls won at San Jose state 71-61 for their third straight win. They will host Nevada Wednesday night live on 14-10 KWYO pregame at 6:30 and the tip at 7:00.
