Jets split season opening double header / Troopers open on the road Sunday / Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer rolling / "Gary Benson" Track classic tomorrow afternoon at Homer Scott stadium

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets opened the 2015 American Legion baseball season yesterday splitting a double header with Gillette.

The Jets took the first game 8-5 and lost the second game 9-2, Jets Head coach Ryan Murner says it was great to be able to start the season so early in the spring.

He says now they can get right back into practice and continue the progress through their training.

Pitching will always be the most important part for any team and any level in baseball and Murner says his young arms did a nice job in the opener.

This season the Troopers and Jets will mix the roster on a weekly and sometimes game by game basis and Murner says it's a formula that will give all the players and chance to see a lot of live action.

And with the schedule for the next several weeks set with games only on the weekend it will especially help the young players prepare for June when they will be playing multiple games every week.

The Troopers play their season opener Sunday in Billings, they will play the Billings Halos and Belgrade, Montana.
