SC GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals lose in the region nine championship game and have to settle for being the runner-up for the 2nd consecutive year.

Last night Western Wyoming built a 35-27 halftime lead and held the Generals off in the second half and won 78-64. The Generals close out the season with a record of 24-10.

4-A STATE BASKETBALL - The 4-A state basketball championships tip off tomorrow in Casper we will be with the Broncs and Lady Broncs throughout the tournament to bring each game live on 14-10 KWYO and 95.9 FM.

All the 4-A games tomorrow will be played at Casper college the Lady Broncs open at 10:30 tomorrow morning with Star Valley.

They beat the Braves on as neutral court during the regular season so their won't any surprises tomorrow Head coach Derek Bissitt.

The Broncs open with Rock Springs tomorrow night at 9:00. The Tigers knocked the Broncs into the losers bracket in the first round of the tournament last year.

Head coach Mike Ibach says that was a bad loss for the program and the Bronc's six seniors remember that feeling from a year ago.

And Ibach says if style of play makes for a competitive game it should be a good one tomorrow night between the Broncs and Tigers.

COWBOYS / COWGIRLS AT THE MWC TOURNAMENT - The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls open Mountain West Conference basketball tournament play today in Las Vegas.

The Cowboys play TCU in the men's play-in game this afternoon at 2:30. We will broadcast it live on 14-10 KWYO. The winner advances to play the top seed BYU tomorrow afternoon at 12:30.

The Cowgirls will play tonight at 7:30 against New Mexico. If the Cowgirls win tonight they would play again Friday afternoon in the semi-finals against TCU.

SPRING SPORTS - Monday the high school spring sports season got underway with practice for Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer and outdoor track and field.

We heard from Broncs Head soccer coach Kevin Riser yesterday, most of the first two days have been indoors but Riser says they are making due until they can get outside full time and he's been impressed with the numbers of players that have come out to play Bronc soccer this year as 65 showed up this week to participate.

The Lady Bronc soccer team opens on Friday the 18th at Riverton the Broncs on Saturday the 19th at a jamboree in the Big Horn Basin.

The first outdoor track meet for the Broncs and Lady Broncs is set for march 19th at the Natrona county Early bird meet.
