Generals Open the NJCAA National Hoop Tournament Monday / Cowgirls win MWC Tournament Opener / Pokes Open the Tournament Wednesday

GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals watched the NJCAA national basketball tournament selection show Monday waiting to see if their named would be called and they didn't wait long.

The Generals were selected as one of eight at large teams to make the 24 team field that will tip off next week in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Head coach Matt Hammer said there was a lot of tension in the room until the Generals were announced as the 13th seed in the bracket.

And they love the seed they got and feel like they have a chance to do well if they can find a way to get the momentum rolling in the next several days.

And finally today Hammer says it great for the players to be able to keep playing now they have to go back to work in the gym and prepare for the opening game Monday against Kaskaskia, Illinois.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls opened their Mountain West Conference tournament with a 64-41 victory in the quarter finals against Utah state, tonight they play San Diego state in the semi finals.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys will face New Mexico in their Mountain West Conference tournament opener tomorrow afternoon is Las Vegas the game will tip at 2:30 you can hear it live on KWYO and 106.9 FM.

HIGH SCHOOL SPRING SPORTS - The 2019 spring sports season is scheduled to start competition this week the Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams will open at a two day jamboree in Casper this weekend, Casper is also scheduled to host the season opening outdoor track meet Saturday.
