Buffalo, Kaycee HS Sports Preview 09 26 14

High School athletes from Buffalo and Kaycee have a busy schedule, mostly on the road this week.

In football, the Buffalo Bison, winless so far this season, will play at Rawlins tonight. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
Kaycee's Buckaroos football team will host Midwest on Saturday.

Local Football Friday - Broncs at the Rock / Rams travel to Wright / Homecoming at TR

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs play at Rock Springs tomorrow the First Federal pregame show starts at 5:30 with kickoff at 6:00 on KWYO and 87.7 FM.

The Broncs and Natrona county are both leading in the standings with 4-0 records, Head coach Don Julian says the Broncs past their first big test of the season winning at Cheyenne East last Friday.

Annual "Red Grade" Grind Saturday October 4th

The 37th running of the Red Grade Grind will be held Saturday October 4th, at 9 a.m. rain/snow or shine.

It starts at the end of the oil on highway 335 before heading up Red Grade.

It's a 3 mile, 2000 ft. elevation gain.Walkers,runners, cyclists are welcome.

Lady Broncs host swimming invite / Homecoming at TR Friday / Ram / Bronc football on the road

LADY BRONC SWIMMING / DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers host a dual with Riverton Friday and the Sheridan invitational Saturday.

Head coach Brent Moore says the Lady Broncs are having a good season. And after spending the first four weeks of the season on the road it's nice to be home for a while.

Erickson and Butcher Lead Generals at Chadron Rodeo

The second stop for the Sheridan College rodeo team was at Chadron, Nebraska.

Freshman Tioni Erickson led the women’s team by earning 110 points during the weekend. Erickson made a great run in the long go during Friday slack, stopping the clock at 7.2 seconds. She ended up second behind Chadron State’s Shaylee Hance who was a 7.1. Tioni put together a run of 9.1 seconds in the short go on Sunday, which earned her 4th in both the short go and the average.

The rest of the women’s team had some tough luck as none of them qualified for the championship round.

Big week of local sports, state golf / regional tennis and week four football

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs and Natrona county sit at 4-0 at the top of the 4-A football standings heading into play this week, the Broncs play at Rock springs Friday then a home showdown with Gillette October 3rd.

It's the longest road trip of the season and the Broncs have struggled a bit to get started in Rock Springs the last three trips, Head coach Don Julian. That will be the main focus of the coaches this week having the Broncs ready to roll early in the game.

Weekend local sports scene

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs ran their record to 4-0 with a 46-14 rout at Cheyenne East. They jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead and put East away late in the third quarter taking a 40-7 lead into the 4th quarter.

Head coach Don Julian says the players did the work before the game and were prepared to face a good opponent.

And the Broncs dominated all phases of the game.

Julian says the Broncs earned the right to be with the teams at the top of the league.

Johnson County Weekend HS Sports Wrap

Another busy weekend in high school sports has wrapped up.
Athletes from both Buffalo and Kaycee saw action this weekend with mixed results.

In golf, the Buffalo Lady Bison took the conference title in Worland over the weekend.
