Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

TRACK AND FIELD - Regional meets wrapped up Saturday in Cheyenne the Sheridan Broncs took first at the 4-A East while the Lady Broncs were 2nd results can be seen right now on the sports page below.

At the 2-A East regional in Torrington the Big Horn boys took the team title while the Lady Rams were 5th the Tongue River Lady Eagles were 11th and the Eagles were 9th.

In the East 1-A the Arvada / Clearmont girls were 5th the boys were 8th and for NSI the girls were 9th and the boys 5th.

The all class Wyoming state track and field championships start Thursday in Casper.

SHS Soccer Season Ends / Troopers Rained out in Casper / 2018 Snickers Cup Soccer set to Begin

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The 2018 soccer season for the Sheridan Broncs and Lady Broncs came to and end Thursday as both lost elimination games at the 4-A East regional tournament in Gillette.

The Lady Broncs were shutout 3-0 by Campbell county and the Broncs lost 2-1 in overtime against Cheyenne East.

STORM SOCCER - The 2018 Snickers Cup youth soccer tournament is set to start tomorrow and run through Sunday at the Big Horn equestrian center there are 26 fields set up for this year's event.

Troopers Back in the Field Tonight / Soccer Regionals Start Today / Rox fall to LA

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers play their next five on the road starting with a single game in Casper tonight then to Gillette Saturday and Sunday for double headers with Gillette and Cheyenne.

The Troopers are 5-3 overall two weeks into the season Head coach Ben Phillips has a young ball club going into the season and he's been a bit surprised at some of their early success.

McGuire Steps Down as Big Horn Football Coach / Regional Soccer Opens Thursday / Rockies Winning Streak Reaches Seven

BIG HORN RAMS FOOTBALL - Football coach Micheal McGuire has stepped down as the Rams Head coach and will be moving to the college football coaching ranks.

He is taking the offensive coordinator job at Dickinson state university in Dickinson, North Dakota, McGuire talked with us Tuesday about the move.

Spring Sports Postseason Starts Thursday / Troopers play at Casper Thursday night / Rockies v Angels Tonight

TRACK / SOCCER REGIONALS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams and High school track teams head to the postseason this week.

Both soccer teams open the East 4-A regional tournament in Gillette Thursday afternoon both teams compete in elimination games the Lady Broncs play Campbell county at 1:00 and the Broncs play Cheyenne East at 3:00.

Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers split weekend doubleheaders with the Billings Halos and Casper Oilers and have an overall record of 5-3.

In Billings Saturday the Troops lost 4-3 then came back to win the second game against the Halos 9-7.

Sunday the Troopers took their home opener with Casper 6-3, the Oilers won the second game 11-4 after yesterday's games Head coach Ben Phillips said his young team has done a nice job the first couple of weekends of the season.

SRD - Summer / Troopers Host Casper Sunday / Rockies at Mets Tonight

SRD SUMMER - The Sheridan Recreation District is making the transition into the busy summer season youth Webb Wright baseball is set to start practices and registration is ongoing for girls softball and the little sluggers baseball program, Seth Ulvestad is the youth sports coordinator for for the district.

And Ulvestad says everyone in Sheridan county is starting to gear up for another summer full of activities.
