Elks State Hoop Shoot Results

The Wyoming State Elks Hoop Shoot was held Saturday in Casper.

Ella Belyeu, in the 8-9 girls division, and Mark Gilbert, in the 12-13 boys division had previously won the Sheridan Hoop Shoot and the District Hoop Shoot to qualify for state.

Ella placed first with a score of 17/25. Mark was third with a score of 16/25.

Ella has now qualified to participate at the Regional Hoop Shoot in Denver on March 17.

The Regional Hoop Shoot includes the state winners from Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas.

STATE SWIMMING / DIVING - The Sheridan Broncs finished 6th at the Wyoming state swimming and diving championships Oscar Patton was the state champion in the 100 free and Caleb Johannesmeyer made all state as well with a 3rd place finish in the 100 fly all three Bronc relays finished in the top 6.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers finished 3rd in their conference tournament in all 20 broncs have qualified for the state tournament.

The all class Wyoming state wrestling championships start Friday at the Casper events center.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams have road games at Cheyenne South and Laramie game times tonight will be at 5:30 and 7:00, tomorrow they go in Laramie at 11:30 and 1:00 we will have all four games live on KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Lady Broncs beat Cheyenne South by one point in the first meeting of the season Lady Broncs Head coach Larry Ligocki expects another good match up and the bison bring a lot to the game for the lady broncs to deal with.

There is a lot on the line for both teams for the Lady Broncs they have a chance to secure a spot in the regional tournament in two weeks for the Broncs they are back on top of the league standings as they try an get one of the two automatic state tournament bids but both teams face tough road games at South and Laramie.

Change to the SC Hoop Schedule Tonight / UW Hoops vs SDSU Tonight / Final Week of 1-A / 2-A Basketball Regular Season Play

GENERALS / LADY GENERALS BASKETBALL -There has been a change to the the Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals schedule, they were to both play at Little Big Horn CC tonight but Little Big Horn is having some issues with their men's players so the Generals game has been canceled the women's game is still on to be played.

The big games come Saturday night in the Hoffman dome against Gillette games are scheduled for 3:00 and 5:00.

Bronc Swimmers / Divers Head to State / Bronc Wrestlers Have Their Regionals / SRD fun run Rescheduled for Saturday

BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers are headed to their conference tournament this weekend in Cheyenne which will seed all the wrestlers for next week's all-class state championships.

The young Broncs had a break out season, Head coach Tyson Shatto says this young bunch of wrestlers put together a very good season.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams took on Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East the Lady Broncs dropped two while the Broncs picked up two important victories.

The Lady Broncs lost to Central 47-36 and battled East Saturday but came up short 53-48, after the East game Head coach Larry Ligocki.
