SHS Hosts "Gary Benson" Memorial track meet today / Bronc / Lady Bronc soccer at Buffalo Friday / Rockies blown out by the Padres

"GARY BENSON" TRACK INVITATIONAL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams host the Gary Benson invitational this afternoon at Homer Scott stadium, events get underway at 1:00.

Last week Lady Bronc Senior Gabby Edeen signed a national letter of intent to compete in college at Utah state university, Sheridan high school Head track coach Art Bauers.

Bauers talks about taking the next step an moving up a few levels in competition.

SC Rodeo results

The rodeo athletes traveled to Casper, Wyoming to compete in the second to last rodeo of the spring season of the Central Rocky Mountain Region. The women’s team had a strong performance as there were four different women that were able to compete in the championship round on Sunday.

Tioni Erickson had a solid run in the goat tying as she stopped the clock with an 8.4. She came back in the short go and had a run of 8.9 seconds which put her 4th in the short round and 4th in the average earning her 55 points for the weekend.

Youth Volleyball Champs

We had one SVC team win their bracket. SVC Yellow #1 won the U16 Gold Division in the 2nd Annual Never Flinch Invitational.

SVC U14 Team Blue won 2nd place in the U14 Gold bracket and SVC u12 Team White placed 3rd in the U12 Gold Bracket. 70 teams participated in the tournament this weekend.

They will host another tournament on May 9th.

Jets split season opening double header / Troopers open on the road Sunday / Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer rolling / "Gary Benson" Track classic tomorrow afternoon at Homer Scott stadium

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets opened the 2015 American Legion baseball season yesterday splitting a double header with Gillette.

The Jets took the first game 8-5 and lost the second game 9-2, Jets Head coach Ryan Murner says it was great to be able to start the season so early in the spring.

He says now they can get right back into practice and continue the progress through their training.

Due to a bad storm in Cheyenne, the Broncs and Lady Broncs will both play at home against Cheyenne Central and East tonight and tomorrow.

Big Horn Lady Rams basketball has a new Head coach / SHS Soccer in action tonight plus golf and tennis / Rockies play at the Dodgers

LADY RAMS HOOPS - The Big Horn Lady Rams basketball team will have a new Head coach next season it will be a familiar face taking over as Micheal McGuire steps into the coaching duties.

McGuire also is the Rams football coach and for the last two seasons has been am assistant coach with the girls basketball program and he says that is making for a smooth transition.

Moving ahead to next season McGuire will have almost every player back from this past season's team that made it to the state tournament.

Troopers / Jets prepare to open the baseball season / Soccer, Track, Golf and Tennis back in action Friday

TROOPERS / JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets will open their season Sunday the Troopers will open next weekend in Billings.

The Jets will play two with Gillette Sunday afternoon at Thorne-Rider stadium the first game is scheduled to start at 1:00.

Yesterday the players were inside as the snow fell and Head coach Ben Phillips says having an indoor facility really pays off when we have weather like we did yesterday.
