Cross Country Teams Compete in Buffalo

Sheridan County Cross Country teams competed in their first meet Friday at the Buffalo Invite and Sheridan Media’s Judy Hagerott was there and brings us this report.

The afternoon was a hot one in Buffalo as Sheridan County High Schools competed in the Buffalo Invite Cross Country Meet Friday. Sheridan, Tongue River and Big Horn Schools had runners there and first year Big Horn coach Dan Biebel was pretty proud of his three runners of his seven member team.

Tongue River’s Coach Tim Maze said the school is in its 2nd year of Cross Country competition and is seeing tremendous growth.

The Sheridan High School boys team picked up a first and second in the 5K competition. Micah Sweeney led the pack, but it was Jered McCafferty who crossed the finish line first.

Coach Art Bauers said his team is off to a great start.

Next week, all three schools head to the Billings Invite.
