Cowgirls Lose in the MWC Title Game / Pokes Season Ends With a Loss to UNM / Generals Prepare for the NJCAA National Tournament

COWGIRLS BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls lost 68-51 to Boise state in the Mountain West conference tournament championship game last night the Cowgirls are 22-8 overall and now wait for a postseason tournament bid.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys season came to and end with a 78-68 loss to New Mexico in the Mountain West Conference tournament first round the Pokes end the year with an 8-24 record.

GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals open the NJCAA national basketball tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas Monday evening against Kaskaskia, Illinois. The game will tip at 5:30 and can be heard live on 14-10 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

Generals Head coach Matt Hammer says after Monday's announcement that they would play in the national tournament the team went right back to work to prepare for the opener Monday night.

The atmosphere will be big at the national tournament and he feels the players will handle the moment okay when they take the court.

And finally today Hammer says the message to the players is they belong in the national tournament field and to go out and play the best basketball they can.

HIGH SCHOOL SPRING SPORTS - Weather permitting the 2019 spring sports season is scheduled to start competition tomorrow the Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams will open at a jamboree in Casper.

The 2019 outdoor track season starts Saturday with Casper hosting the annual "Glenn Legler" invitational.
