Broncs Win State Indoor Track Title / Broncs Take Regional Basketball Tournament Championship

STATE INDOOR TRACK - The Sheridan Broncs won the Wyoming state indoor track and field championship Saturday in Gillette the Lady Broncs were 4th complete results can be seen below on the sports page.

1-A / 2-A STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS - The Arvada / Clearmont Lady Panthers made it to the 1-A championship and finished as the runner up to Cokeville 64-40 was the final.

The Big Horn Rams won their opening game then lost a tough semi final game to Wyoming Indian and lost in the third place game Saturday 61-54 against Rocky Mountain.

The Lady Rams dropped their opener they came back with two victories to win the consolation game 32-31 against Greybull.

The Tongue River Eagles were out in two games with losses against Big Horn and Wright.

4-A REGIONAL BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Broncs are 22-1 after winning their regional tournament championship against Cheyenne East, the Broncs dominated winning 79-57 Head coach Jeff Martini said the Broncs played well.

The environment in the gym in Cheyenne was hostile the T-Birds played chippy all night and it never once bothered the Broncs.

And now it's on to the next step to get to the state title game Saturday night.

The Lady Broncs dropped two straight games and were eliminated from the regional tournament Friday but they played well in both losses here's Head coach Larry Ligocki.

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Lady generals beat Gillette Friday to advance in their Region nine tournament they open bracket play Thursday night against Western Nebraska in Scottsbluff.

The Generals beat Northwest college Saturday they will host the final eight in the bracket beginning Thursday at the Hoffman dome the Generals will play at 7:00.

UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls play at home tonight against San Jose state they close out the regular season at New Mexico Thursday.

The Cowboys play at San Jose Wednesday night you can hear the game on KWYO and 106.9 FM tip off is at 8:00 the Pokes close out the regular season Saturday at home against New Mexico at 4:00.

The Mountain West Conference tournament starts next week in Las Vegas.

SPRING SPORTS - The high school spring sports season will get off to cold start today with the first practices for soccer and outdoor track and field set to begin.
