Broncs win football opener / Rams, Eagles open Friday / Poke football season opens Saturday / Broncos beat 49ers in exhibition play

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team blew out Laramie 49-7 in the season opener Friday night.

The Broncs started the scoring when Quarterback Blake Godwin hit Dontae Crow on an 84 yard touchdown pass a minute and half into the game.

In all Godwin threw six touchdown passes for 278 yards, the Bronc running attack was pretty good but Head coach Don Julian says it will only get better.

The Broncs led 42-0 at halftime and Julian says they were able to rest starters and get lots of snaps for their younger players.

The Broncs will host Kelly Walsh Friday night and the Trojans seem to play the Broncs tough and Julian says the Broncs will be ready.

EAGLES / RAMS FOOTBALL - The Tongue River and Big Horn football teams open Friday with home games. The Rams have Lovell and TR will host Rocky Mountain both games kick at 7:00.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys open their season Saturday at home against North Dakota, kickoff in Laramie is scheduled for 2:00.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos beat the San Francisco 49ers Saturday, the final exhibition game is Saturday night against the Cardinals pregame starts the broadcast at 5:00 on KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

GOLF - The Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers played well in Worland the Lady Broncs won going away winning by 61 shots and swept the top four individual spots, Victoria Owings took the Medalist honors Molly Butler was 2nd, Kayla Allen was 3rd and Katie Beardslee was 4th.

The Broncs were second, Kirby Coe Kirkham was the Broncs lone top ten finisher he took the boys Medalist honor.

VOLLEYBALL - The Lady Bronc volleyball team went 0-5 at their opening tournament in Cheyenne they will play this week and a big invitational in Gillette.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles went 4-3 at a tournament in the Big Horn Basin the Lady Eagles and the Big Horn Lady Rams will join the Sheridan Lady Broncs playing in Gillette this weekend.

X-COUNTRY - The Bronc and Lady Bronc X-country teams both won the team titles at the Buffalo invitational. Friday they compete at the Billings, Montana invitational.

TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams both shut out Riverton Friday, the Broncs dropped their dual with Jackson while the Lady Broncs also took that dual.

Tomorrow they host conference matches with Natrona county matches start at 4:00.
