Broncs / Eagles make it to state championship football weekend / Pokes lose to CSU / Broncos fall at Indy

BRONCS / EAGLES FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs and Tongue River Eagles will play back to back Saturday in the 1-A and 4-A state football championship games at War Memorial stadium.

The Eagles beat Lingle 26-9 Friday to make it back to back road playoff victories and will play Upton-Sundance for the championship at 1:00 Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles led wire to wire in the victory Friday and head into the title game with an 8-2 record. The Patriots beat the Eagles 35-6 in week three during the regular season.

The Broncs will take on Gillette for the 4-A title Saturday evening the game will start at 4:00.

They shut down Natrona county in the second half and beat the Mustangs 35-10 and will return to Laramie for the first time since they took the state title back in 2011.

They got started early quarterback Blake Godwin scored on a 74 yard on the first play of the game.

After the victory Head coach Don Julian. And it's a great relief to finally break through and get to the title game after three straight losses in the semi finals.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys lost at home against CSU Saturday this week they play at night on the road Saturday at San Diego state, that broadcast will start at 7:30 following our state championship coverage.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos lost at Indianapolis Sunday 27-24, this week the Broncos host Kansas City Sunday afternoon.

STATE VOLLEYBALL - At the state volleyball championships the Lady Broncs ended up 4th overall losing to Natrona county in the third place match Saturday.

In the 2-A bracket Big Horn was eliminated from the tournament Saturday by Shoshoni, the Tongue River Lady Eagles were knocked out of the tournament Friday.
