Bronc Wrestlers 3rd at state / TR Lady Eagles - Big Horn Rams head to state hoops / SHS hoops off to regionals

STATE WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers finished 3rd with three champions and nine place winners overall.

The three state champs were Braxton Cooper, Hayden Hastings and Cody Delk. Tory Music and Tucker Goss,placed 2nd, Kyle Burton was 3rd, Dane Chambers was 4th, Gage Tyree and Tim Cowan with 5th place finishes.

STATE SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers finished 11th at the state swimming and diving championships.

STATE 2-A BASKETBALL - The Tongue River Lady Eagles and the Big Horn Rams will represent Sheridan county at the state 1-A / 2-A state basketball tournament this week in Casper.

The Lady Eagles and the Rams took their regional titles Saturday night in Cheyenne and will open the state tournament Thursday at Casper college.

The Lady Eagles will play Thermopolis at 10:30 in the morning we will have that game live on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM the Rams will play Rocky Mountain at 9:00 Thursday night live on 87.7 FM.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Broncs and Lady Broncs split in Gillette Friday and will be in Cheyenne this week for their regional tournament.

The Broncs lost 77-58 and finished 3rd in the conference and will play an elimination game with Cheyenne Central Thursday night at the regional tournament in Cheyenne at 8:30 that game will be live on 14-10 KWYO.

The Lady Broncs had a tough night but battled through a lot of adversity, forced overtime and beat the Camels 73-63, Head coach Jessica Pickett says the Lady Broncs showed a lot of maturity in picking up a great road victory.

They out scored Gillette 14-4 in the OT, Junior Megan Myers came up with three big shots including two-three pointers to put the Lady Broncs over the top.

And with the victory they win the conference regular season title and the number one seed heading into this week's regional tournament.

They open the tournament in the semi finals on Friday and Pickett says they got some work to get done in practice over the next four days.

GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals play their second round game tonight at their region nine tournament at 6:00 in Sterling, Colorado against Northwest college.

LADY GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Lady Generals beat Lamar Colorado Sunday night 88-87, tonight they play the host team Western Wyoming at 7:00.
