Bronc / Lady Bronc track / Soccer / Golf / Rockies drop season opener

BRONC /LADY BRONC TRACK - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams competed in Cody Saturday the Lady Broncs finished 4th the Broncs were 6th.

Head coach Art Bauers says overall it was a pretty good opening event.

And he says with weather being so unpredictable the athletes must have that urgency to get state qualifying standards meet as soon as possible.

This week they will skip the Gillette invitational because of the Sheridan high school prom and are now looking at competing in either Worland or Newcastle.

And he says over the next couple of weeks the coaches will start getting a good look at how the team might look for regional and State meets in May.

April 22nd and 26th Sheridan high school will host the Gary Benson and Dan Hansen invitationals and Bauers says both events are becoming two of the top meets in the region.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams are 3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play. They play their next matches in Gillette Friday at 3:00 and 5:00 pm.

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - In other spring sports the Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers are starting their spring season this week course conditions pending they will play in Worland Friday.
They host Sheridan invitational at Kendrick golf course Thursday May 8th. The spring season ends with the conference tournament in Laramie May 19th and 20th,

NCAA HOOPS TOURNAMENT - The final four is set for Saturday night Uconn plays Florida, Kentucky plays Wisconsin. The national title game will be played Monday.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies opened up the regular season yesterday with a 10-3 loss at Miami.
