Bronc Basketball Finishes 3rd / Generals Play the Waiting Game/ UW Hoops Open the MWC Tournament

BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Bronc basketball team had to settle for 3rd place at the state tournament after a tough loss in the semi finals Friday night they found enough energy Saturday afternoon to beat Cheyenne East 73-61 to bring home 3rd place for the second time in three years.

After dropping the game with Campbell county Friday Head coach Jeff martini says it was good to see the players end their season with a victory.

They end the season at 24-2 the regular season and regional tournament champs it was a special team and a special season that won't be defined by one loss in a semi final state tournament game.

Finally today they lose four Seniors Tristan Bower, Parker Christensen, Dalton Gregory and Josh Ahrens.

GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals lost in the region nine championship game to Casper college 87-74 Saturday night. Today is a big day for the Generals as they will find out if they get an at large bid into the national tournament, the selection committee meets today to determine the eight at large bids.

UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys beat New Mexico 88-81 to end the regular season and as fate would have they will face each other again in their Mountain West Conference tournament opener Wednesday afternoon is Las Vegas the game will tip at 2:30 you can hear it live on KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Cowgirls will open their Mountain West Conference tournament tonight against Utah state tonight they play the late game at 9:30.

SPRING SPORTS - The 2019 spring sports season is scheduled to start competition this week the Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams will open at a two day jamboree in Casper this weekend, Casper is also scheduled to host the season opening outdoor track meet Saturday.
