Cowgirls Knocked out of the WNIT / Bronc / Lady Bronc Soccer Opens / Track and Field Opens This Weekend

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls basketball season came to an end Sunday with a second round loss in the "WNIT" against UC-Davis the final was 74-64 the Cowgirls finish off a great season with a record of 22-11.

SPRING SPORTS TRACK / SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams had a pretty good opening weekend at the Casper jamboree.

The Lady Broncs tied 1-all with Natrona county then dropped a 3-1 decision against Kelly Walsh and ended the event with a scoreless tie with Evanston.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls beat New Mexico state 67-59 in the first round of the WNIT Thursday night Liv Roberts led the Cowgirls with a career high 28 points.

Their second round game will be played Sunday afternoon at the Double "AA" as they take on US-Davis we will have the game live on 14-10 KWYO and 106.9 FM Cowgirl pregame is set for 1:30 they tip at 2:00.

Bronc Soccer Looking Forward to the 2018 Season / Cowgirl Hoops Open the WNIT Tonight

BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams open their season at a Jamboree tomorrow in Casper, Scott Soderstrum takes over the Bronc Head coaching job this spring.

Soderstrum says even though practice started indoors last week they have moved outside this week and the players hit the ground running and they are off to a good start.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams open their season at a Jamboree Friday and Saturday in Casper.

Both teams have been practicing at Big Horn high school this week because of snow on the practice fields at Sheridan high school,former Bronc Head coach Kevin Riser takes over as the Lady Bronc Head coach this spring and he says it's great to back coaching in the Sheridan high school soccer program.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls received a bid to play in the Women's National Invitation Tournament, the Cowgirls are 21-10 and open the WNIT at home Thursday night against New Mexico state.

We will have all the Cowgirl WNIT games live on 14-10 KWYO and 106.9 FM broadcast time Thursday night will start at 6:00.

BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Bronc basketball team came up short in their bid for a state basketball championship in the 4-A title game in Casper.

Campbell county had the Broncs number this season, with their 71-61 win Saturday night that made it four wins over the Broncs this season two in the regular season and two in the post season, Campbell Senior Trey Haldky wore the Broncs out with a tournament high 43 points.

Broncs Survive a Scare From KW in the Semi's / Face Campbell County for the State Hoop Title Tonight

The Sheridan Broncs didn't have their best game of year in the 4-A semi finals at the state basketball tournament against Casper Kelly Walsh last night but they were good enough in the 2nd half to pull out a 55-44 overtime win and punch their ticket to TOnight's state title game.

The Broncs trailed 26-17 at halftime and got to within 30-25 heading into the fourth quarter then forced overtime.

STATE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Broncs advanced to the 4-A semi finals at the state basketball tournament in Casper with a 73-64 win over Rocks Springs.

The Broncs led wire to wire they had a 32-16 lead at halftime before holding off the Tigers down the stretch.

Tristan Bower led the scoring with 20 but it was the monster play of Parker Christensen that put the Broncs in the semi finals, Christensen had 15 points and 19 rebounds Blayne Baker hit for 12 and had 7 boards.
