Bison Boys Soccer Take State Title, Girls Third

The Bison Boys' Soccer team has won the 2013 3A State Title, after defeating the Star Valley Braves 1-0 in the Championship Game Saturday in Jackson.

The Bison began their State Title run last Thursday as they beat Torrington 6-0 in game 1 at the State Tournament, then downing favored Jackson 1-0 on Friday to set up the Championship Game with Star Valley.

The boys' final standings at State were: Buffalo, Star Valley, Jackson, Lander and Worland for the Consolation Championship.

The Buffalo Lady Bison finished Third at State.
They began their State Tournament Thursday with a 3-0 win over Torrington, then fell to Jackson 2-0 Friday. They then played Lander and beat them 2-0 to finish third at State.

The Girls' Final Standings were: Jackson first, Star Valley second, Buffalo third, Lander Fourth and Cody as Consolation Champion.

State Track and Field was also this past weekend and Buffalo had some great finishes at the meet.

The lone State Champion from Buffalo was Taylor Ballek in girls pole vault, but many Bison athletes finished in the top five during the meet.

The girls team finished 11th of 16 teams and the boys were sixth of 16.
